‘Sydney Spectaculars’ Resuming Posts From 19th August

It was longer than we expected but we are back!

Sydney Spectaculars will be resuming from 19th August.

We hope everyone enjoyed the 125th Commonwealth Naval Force Federation International Fleet Review, Wings Over Shellharbour, State Of Origin & Vivid Sydney!

We apologise for the lack of coverage of these events. In the break, we still followed them though so historical details of these events will eventually make its way onto the site when time permits.

Nevertheless, normal news coverage will resume following a summary post of the news that happened during our absence. The summary will be preceded by an important story that is impossible to ignore without a proper post about it.

‘Sydney Spectaculars’ Won’t Be Publishing Updates Temporarily

Sydney Spectaculars will not be publishing updates temporarily.

This is unfortunate given the recent announcement of the 125th Commonwealth Naval Force Federation International Fleet Review to be held on March 21.

If we are not back by then, to all, enjoy!

Lights out on the Sydney Harbour Bridge for ‘Earth Hour’

The Sydney Harbour Bridge is world-renowned for its spectacular light displays but this week it will make a different kind of impact by standing in darkness in support of Earth Hour.

A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said the Sydney Harbour Bridge was just one of many global icons joining the cause including the Sydney Opera House, the Eiffel Tower, Buckingham Palace and the Empire State Building.

“All non-essential lighting on the Sydney Harbour Bridge will be switched off between 8.30pm and 9.30pm on Saturday 29 March,” the spokesperson said.

“Traffic and pedestrian lighting will stay on, so motorists will still be able to use the bridge safely.”

“Roads and Maritime Services has participated in Earth Hour since it started in 2007 and we are proud to support this global environmental initiative.”

Earth Hour is the world’s largest united movement to remind people we’re all responsible for protecting our planet with more than 150 countries participating.
